This article will let you know how to change the iHub's default IP Address so that it matches with your home network. The procedure has been found to be effective so long you have a router and an iHub that is working i.e. one that lights up.
What you will have to do is this:
1) Connect the iHub to the receiver.
2) Turn on the main power switch, but leave power off from the front panel so that only the time is displayed.
3) Next, connect the Ethernet cable from iHub to the Ethernet port on router.
4) Open WIZnet and press 'Search' button. You will know things are OK as long as there is some sort of iHub information available. Do not close WIZNET.
5) Go to start menu and click 'RUN'. Type 'CMD' and hit enter. Then type 'ipconfig'. This will bring on the DOS screen that will display some information about your home network.
For instance, it should be something like:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix. :
Link-local IPv6 Address..... : fe80::15da:a1b1:8962:dc42%14
IPv4 Address............ : 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask........... : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway......... : 192.168.1.1
6) Go into WIZNET and make sure that 'Static' is checked. Also, the 'Subnet and Gateway' should match the settings from your home network that you have obtained using ipconfig.
For example, it should be like:
Local IP: 192.168.1.1** (** numbers will vary depending on your network in Step 7)
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Port: 1920
Operation Mode: Mixed
USE DNS: (should be checked)
DNS SERVER IP: 208.67.222.222 (Server IP seems to populate on its own and hence, you need not be too concerned with this)
Domain Name: http://WWW.SVFTAIKS.COM
This way, the correct 'Subnet and Gateway' has been set for the iHub.
7) The thing that we need to find now is a valid or unused IP address using the 'Local IP' 192.168.1.1** (since 192.168.1.100 is in use by the computer as depicted in the example).
7A) Select an IP Address above the used one (i.e. 192.168.1.101 - 192.168.1.102 - 192.168.1.103 etc)
7B) Next, click on 'Setting'. If this gives an error message, continue to click 'Setting' until it processes.
7C) Click on 'Upload' now and open the '1.4 bin'. You should be able to notice it 'Processing' instantly.
7D) In case you get a 'Failed to Upload' message, re-start from step 7A once more.
8) Once it says Completed, close WIZnet - Reopen WIZnet - Hit search. You should now be able to see the new 1.4 version. Select DHCP, Hit settings and once processed, EXIT from WIZnet.
9) Turn on the receiver and load the newest receiver file. Setup 'ipconfig' with iHub serial number. Setup your 'Dish Settings' as well as your other 'settings'. Next, watch your favorite TV programs.
